Jafza Logistics Park Aiming for Completion in 20 Months

DP World's flagship trade and logistics hub - Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), is aiming for the completion of its South Logistics Park within the next 20 months. Jafza has contracted Group AMANA, a UAE-based company, to expedite the construction.

Inaugurated in 2022, the logistics park aspires to serve as a specialized hub for warehousing, trading, processing, and logistics in Dubai, as well as facilitate imports/exports for both government and private sector businesses.

Jafza's Logistics Cluster currently houses 460 companies, including key international logistics players, from over 30 countries and has been witnessing 16% growth since 2016. Riding high on this success, the new park aims to support the current clients and attract new players who are working towards establishing themselves in the market. The ambitious project will also facilitate thousands of companies from over 140 countries in expanding their businesses in the UAE.

Quoting DP World's CEO and Managing Director Abdulla bin Damithan's words during the facilities' inauguration - "We recognize the critical role the logistics sector plays in enabling the growth of various industries around the globe. Jafza is aligned with key government initiatives, such as the Dubai Silk Road strategy, to boost economic growth," He also stated that "as the UAE continues to grow into a global processing and re-distribution gateway, we have experienced a significant spike in demand for the logistics and warehousing space."

Jafza's new logistics park is spread over a whopping leasable area of over 46,000 square meters, out of which 87% will be allocated to warehousing and the remaining to office facilities. The designated area for the smallest unit will be just under 2900 square meters, with mezzanine office space occupying 360 square meters. Companies have the flexibility to club multiple units to accommodate their space requirements.

The state-of-the-art facility located near the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Jebel Ali Port is projected to serve as a centre for global trade and help contribute to the growth of the region's economy. Read the full article here.
