Jafza’s Superior Infrastructure & Tech Earn it the Most Inspiring Logistics Hub 2023 Award

Jafza or Jebel Ali Free Zone has bagged the title of “The Most Inspiring Logistics Hub'' at the TLME Inspiration Awards 2023, hosted in Dubai.

The free zone in the Middle East region has achieved great success thanks to its cutting-edge warehousing technology, user-friendly digital trade platforms, streamlined customs procedures, and supportive policies for business setup and operations.

The growth of Jafza has been tremendous. Launched by DP World in 1985 with just 19 companies, the free zone now houses nearly 9500 companies, including over a 100 Fortune Global 500 Companies. 

These numbers translate to a 30% annual growth in customer registrations in just a decade. Its logistics customers grew 13-fold and the transport segment recorded a CAGR of 26% during the same period. 

A key factor contributing to Jafza’s success is its prime location and vast area, making it a preferred hub for logistics, trade, and e-commerce. Located near the Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, Etihad Rail’s Jebel Ali station, and Expo 2020 Dubai, it offers easy access to these important places. 

The free zone spreads over a massive 92,100 sqm of warehouse space and plans to add 46,000 sqm this year to cater to the increasing warehousing demands in Dubai.

Jafza is facilitating growth across industries in Dubai. Jafza’s proactive initiatives are aiding global trade between Dubai and other nations, including India. The food and beverage (F&B) units contribute to more than 20% of the city's trade and are a significant player in the segment. 

Over the past ten years, Jafza has managed over a billion metric tonnes of containers and raw materials related to construction. The implementation of advanced technologies such as Data-Lake Zone, IoT, and digital systems have led to the exponential growth of the e-commerce sector.
